Yael Stein Yael Stein, who is Australian and lives in New York City since 2013, played Lorna Morrello's character in Orange Is the New Black. Yael graduated from NIDA. Since her early years, Yael has been lucky to have worked with some of Australia's premiere storytellers, luminaries of theatre and visionaries who work behind the scenes in film, television and theatre. Yael is a well-known actor throughout Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was thrilled to discover her new home when Brooklyn Academy of Music, in which the play was staged with great acclaim, moved to her new home in New York City. Yael is co-founder the company The Cannery. The Cannery supports innovative writing, and creative endeavors from its Bushwick studio.
